First Call (British Red Cross)
Whst is the First Call service?
Short-term practical and emotional support at home for up to 12 weeks to help people regain their independence. We do this by providing support post-hospital discharge or assisting people to remain at home.
- companionship and social visits by our volunteers
- support with practical tasks including shopping
- signposting to other organisations for additional support.
After the 12 weeks, if you require any further support, the service team will help you access this working with other organisations.

The service is available to anyone.

Volunteering for he British Red Cross is a great way to learn new skills and make a difference to people's lives.
As a First Call volunteer, you will have the rewarding experience of helping people who need a little extra support at home to maintain their independence.
