First Call (British Red Cross)

Whst is the First Call service?

Short-term practical and emotional support at home for up to 12 weeks to help people regain their independence. We do this by providing support post-hospital discharge or assisting people to remain at home.

We offer:

  • companionship and social visits by our volunteers
  • support with practical tasks including shopping
  • signposting to other organisations for additional support.

After the 12 weeks, if you require any further support, the service team will help you access this working with other organisations.
