Education and Youth Services Ltd
Our vision is to deliver the highest quality education and training, often in sensitive areas, where government agencies and other education institutions have found it difficult to succeed. We currently have 26 colleges throughout the UK.
We work with a variety of students with a full range of needs from ADHD to anxiety issues to being on the autistic spectrum. A lot of the students who we work with have struggled in mainstream education due to either level of work or the amount of people in their classes.
We are OFSTED inspected and strive to work to a high standard for all our students. We work in small classes and focus on not only developing the learners educational needs but also their personal development working on their confidence, self-esteem, team work and leadership skills.
We offer a variety of courses which can be seen below:
- L1 Health and Social Care
- L1 Travel and Tourism
- L1 Sport
- L1 & 2 Vehicle Maintenance
- L1 Business Administration
- L1 Construction (Painting and Decorating)
- L1 Art
- L1 Workskills
- Functional Skills Maths up to L2
- Functional Skills English up to L2
- Functional Skills ICT up to L1
During the learners course we work together to find suitable work placements in a career area they are interested in and have recently received a Silver Career Mark. We also help with student's progression into work, further education or independent living once completed and have an in house Careers Advisor available to meet those students who are unsure of their next step.
We work with two age groups within our Lincoln branch. Our Restart group are learners aged 14 -v16 who have been referred to our college by their school or other agencies such as Solutions 4 in order to help them re-engage with education. We strive to help those learners in year 11 achieve at least 5 GCSEs during their time with us.
Our Study Programme learners are aged 16 - 18, majority of these learners are self-referred but can be referred by college and other organisations such as family support and youth offending teams. Our Study Programme learners receive an attendance allowance for studying with us of up to £20 per week. Learners who are entitled will also receive a subsistence allowance of £3 a day for lunches and a reimbursement for their travel expenses.
