Albion House Day Nursery

We are set in a town house, close to the town centre. The nursery has a homely feel, staff are qualified to NVQ levels 3 in childcare and we engourage further education. We have en Early Years Teacher leading the setting who will welcome you into our family .We are a relatively small nursery with 11 staff at present, which means that the staff get to know all of the children and their needs extremely well. We are HYGGE accreditited nursery, which allows us to embrace a slower paced and balanced ethos, where the well-being of the children, staff and parents is at the forfront of our practice. Our whole provision is neutrally decorated making the use of natural light, enhanced by mood lighting. The babies are downstairs in a lovely purpose created space, where their resouces are sensory based, ready to capture that awe and wonder. The children over 2 years now have the whole of the first floor which has dedicated areas for the children to self-select, explore and have fun. These 2 rooms are either split for the different age groups or can be opened up to have one larger room for all of the children to explore. they have a balance of open ended and "real" objects to capture curious minds.

Our walled garden provides a safe outdoor play area, with mud kitchen, digging area and planting area.The children enjoy natural play out here in the mud kitchen and embrace our scandinavian ethos using the natural resources at hand. We have a variety of open ended resources for children to be able to build and balance, developing those physical skills. Weather is a learning resource in itself, and we go out in all weathers. There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing !
