Loneliness is not to get confused with being alone sometimes we want to be alone and that is OK. Whilst most people need some form of social interaction, everyone has different social needs so you may like having a few close friends or you may prefer to have a large group of friends. Loneliness is an unpleasant emotion and can be a response of being isolated and not seeing or talking to people very often. However, it can also be felt when you are surrounded by people. It may feel like you're not understood or cared for and this can make you anxious and disconnected from others.
