The Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) have a statutory requirement to:
- Co-ordinate what is done by each person or body represented on the Board for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the area: and
- Ensure the effectiveness of what is done by each such person or body for those purposes.
The LSCB is involved with developing safeguarding Policy and Procedure; agreeing with partners the actions to be taken where there are concerns about a child’s safety; training those who work with children; recruitment and supervision of staff; investigation of allegations against people working with children; ensuring the safety and welfare of privately fostered children; monitoring the effectiveness of what is done by the authority and their Board partners; undertaking reviews of serious cases ensuring that the lessons learned are widely understood and reviewing the deaths of all children in the local authority area.
The LSCB offers a range of resources, links, advice and guidance for practitioners, families, carers and children in Lincolnshire in order to help protect, support and ensure the welfare and safety.
The LSCB website provides a raft of information, links and guidance around a variety of topics which include, E-Safety, preventing child sexual exploitation and advice and guidance around preventing and responding to bullying. The LSCB employ an E-safety officer who undertakes direct fact to face work with children in a variety of forums to promote safe use of technology and the internet
The LSCB does not provide any other service directly to the public, but does provide resources, links and the ability to signpost families, children and professionals to resources and the agencies that could provide the services and input they may require.
