Obsessions and Compulsions can take over your life and may leave you feeling helpless.  Here are some ideas you can do yourself to help manage your OCD and help you feel more in control:

  • Try self help resources - People with mild OCD find they can use Self Help resources to help develop and create their own coping strategies;
  • Build your support network - People find it difficult to talk about their OCD.  Build up your support network and talk to someone you trust and spend time with family and friends;
  • Try peer support - Peer support can bring people together who have had similar experiences and able to support each other;
  • Learn to relax - Stress can cause your OCD to get worse, so try to manage your stress, use some relaxation techniques and try mindfulness;
  • Look after yourself - Make sure you get enough sleep, think about your diet, and try to take some exercise.
